Shuffle The Music Tag

Yesterday I was tagged to do the ‘Shuffle The Music’ tag. I love a good tag so was so excited to get writing it. I was tagged by the lovely M from theyoungculture whose blog I will link here I highly recommend you check her blog out, especially if you’re a music lover! Thank you so much for tagging me, here’s the first fifteen songs that came up when I shuffled my music…

  • Creep- Emily Middlemas X-Factor Cover

I have always loved Creep by Radiohead, it’s one of the most emotive, moving songs I’ve ever heard. I’m usually not a massive fan of the covers you hear on X-Factor but when I heard Emily Middlemas’ cover I instantly fell in love with it. The whole performance was so striking, performed on a Halloween episode whilst she was dressed as a doll, it was so overwhelmingly beautiful. It’s also really nice to hear a woman sing this song also, please don’t write it off and give it a listen.

  • Show Me Heaven- Maria Mckee

This is such a powerful song. I love to belt this out whilst I’m driving, it makes me feel so empowered and sassy.

  • Breakeven- The Script

This is another sing a long song, as soon as it comes on you’ve got to belt it out. I love the lyrics to this, it’s such a lovely song. I’m not a massive The Script fan but I do like the odd song and this is one of them.

  • Ordinary People- John Legend

This is one of the most beautiful songs, the lyrics are so heart breaking and I just adore it. When this comes on shuffle I feel like I have to stop everything to listen to it, closing your eyes and really listening to the lyrics makes you fall in love with the song even more.

  • Treat You Better- Shawn Mendes

I’m not quite sure why I have this song, it has no deep meaning or anything like that, I just enjoy listening to it. I do really like Shawn Mendes, I think he’s got so much talent and it comes through in his songs. This isn’t my favourite Shawn song, his newest single (There’s Nothing Holding Me Back) is my fave but I still love Treat You Better.

  • Sexual Healing- Kygo Remix

This takes me right back to standing in LUSH Christmas shopping. I was stood in the queue which was one of the biggest I’ve ever been stood in and this song came on. Straight away I loved it, I was bopping along to it and knew that I needed to download it as soon as I got home. The beat really does lift your mood, I like to listen to it driving and when I need a pick me up.

  • The Answer- Brothers Of Mine

This is a bit of a plug as well as my brother is in Brothers Of Mine. A brother of mine is in Brothers Of Mine. I love this song so much, no matter what mood I’m in I can put it on and want to dance. It’s amazing to hear my brother’s voice in a song that I love so much, which I’d love even if he wasn’t in it. I highly recommend you give their music video for their first single ‘The Answer’ a watch, I’ll leave the link here.

  •  A Little Respect- Erasure

I’d always loved this song when it came on the radio, completely oblivious to who the artist was or even what the title was. I googled a lyric one day which lead me too discover the song and listen to it non stop. It’s such a dancey song yet the lyrics are so heartfelt when you take them time out to really read them.

  •  Pure Imagination- Gene Wilder

I’m so glad this came up when I was shuffling through my songs. This is an incredible song, please listen to it. I have tears whenever I hear it now, as Gene Wilder sadly passed away last year. As I seem to have said many times, the lyrics to this are so beautiful.

  •  God Only Knows- The Beach Boys

This is one of my favourite songs, ever, and always will be. The Beach Boys are also one of my favourite groups, their songs are so distinctive and memorable. I love them so much and this song is definitely my favourite (alongside ‘Don’t Worry Baby’). This is such a perfect love song, it’d be a lovely song to walk down the aisle too.

  •  At Last- Etta James

Etta James’ voice is like melted chocolate, I just adore it, I could listen to it all day. I was listening to one of her vinyls when this song came on and it was the first time I’d paid attention to it, attention that it really deserves.

  •  End Of The Road- Boyz II Men

This is one of my favourite songs from the 90’s. I don’t really have much to say about this one, just that I love it a lot and that it takes me back to my childhood.

  •  Is This Love- Bob Marley & The Wailers

This is one of my favourite Bob Marley songs, most probably my second favourite, behind Three Little Birds. The whole vibe of this song is chilled, it makes me feel calm and happy. Whenever I listen to this it reminds of being on the cross trainer as this was the song I’d listen too when I was on the cross trainer (no particular reason as to why it was haha).

  •  Stronger Than Me- Amy Winehouse

I’m by no means the biggest Amy fan but I’m definitely a fan. The first time I heard this was whilst I was watching ‘Amy’, after watching it I immediately downloaded the soundtrack and listened to it on repeat for weeks. This was the stand out song for me, I loved everything about it, it really intrigued me which made me listen to it more. I highly recommend you give ‘Amy’ a watch, it is so amazing and this song was a highlight of it for me.

  • Foundations- Kate Nash

This is a jokey one in my playlist, I always have a good chuckle listening to the verses but adore the chorus. I don’t know why the clean version is in my playlist, I don’t mind either version though.

I actually really enjoyed writing this! I’m only going to tag a few bloggers as I’ve been doing a lot of tagging other people and I’m starting to run out! I’m going to tag (you don’t have to do it if you don’t want too!)-

The Rules:

  • Mention the creator of the tag and link to their blog.
  • Thank the person that nominated you for this tag and link to their blog as well.
  • Shuffle your entire music library (no matter how old songs the songs are) and talk about the FIRST FIFTEEN songs that come up (anything like why they are there, if they signify something, any story, why you like them etc.)
  • Mention the songs as well as the artists.
  • Tag 7 people or more to do this tag and please let them know!

Thank you so much for reading, I really enjoyed writing this, I absolutely love tags! Please do check out M who tagged me and the bloggers who I have tagged, they’re all so amazing!
