Morning Skincare Routine

I stick to a strict skincare routine, morning and evening. So, I thought I’d share my morning skincare routine with you. My skin, at the moment, is quite troublesome, I have some blemishes and a very oily forehead and nose.

The first thing that I do is cleanse my skin to freshen my face up and make me feel awake. I will usually use the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Micellar Water or if I’m feeling a bit more motivated and have some energy I’ll go into my bathroom and do a hot cloth cleanse. I love using the No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser, it is so effective and feels so amazing first thing in the morning.

After I’ve cleansed and my face feels a lot cleaner, I’ll then go in with the Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner on a cotton face pad. This tones, soothes and prepares my skin, I could not miss this step out as I feel like it leaves my skin so soft and ready for the day. I’ve only ever tried the Simple toner so it’d be interesting to branch out and try a different brand. The cotton pads that I use are Wilko’s Maxi Oval Dual-Faced Cotton Pads, they’re bigger than usual ones which is why they’re so good.

This is something relatively new to my routine but I then use a serum, the one that I use is the Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum. This makes such a difference to my complexion, especially on a morning, it makes me feel so much more radiant and glowey. If you’ve never tried a serum I’d definitely give it a go, especially this one which is so cheap! I really like to put this on without a moisturiser when I’m going to the gym as it makes my skin look so healthy.

I then use a moisturiser, the only that I’m currently using and have been for quite a while is the Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream. This works wonders for me, it’s not greasy yet is so moisturising, hydrating and feels so lightweight. I also adore the smell of it, I blooming love the smell of pomegranate.

Finally, I apply the Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream under my eyes and usually pat a little bit on my lid. I have tried quite an expensive eye cream and this one is so much better which I’m glad as it is only £3!! This isn’t greasy at all and really nourishes my under eye area, I feel like eye cream really makes a difference to how my concealer sits under my eyes which is why I cannot miss it out of my routine.

If I’m wearing makeup I will then apply my primer (Rimmel Match Perfection Fix & Perfect Pro Primer in 2) and makeup. If I’m leaving the house makeup free, that’ll be it. If I’m staying in I will probably dot Sudocrem on any blemishes or spots that I have and pray that nobody knocks on the door!

That’s it really, I try to keep this the same every morning but I sometimes opt for different things or replace a step with something else. Or mornings like today where I’ve lounged about in last nights pyjamas eating leftover pizza I haven’t done anything, oops!

Throughout the day I also like to use a mist to make my face feel refreshed and hydrated. The one that I use is the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist, I love this skincare range and cannot recommend it enough!

  1. I love skincare, it’s the little things in life that make me really happy haha. Simple, Garnier… such amazing brands that I’ve loved for years, you can’t fault their products. At the min I’m currently using Liz Earle products which are to die for, they make my skin feel so pampered!
