As I said yesterday in the Morning Skincare Routine post I uploaded (read it here), I like to stick to a strict skincare routine for both the morning and evening. So, seeing as yesterday I shared my morning routine I thought today I’d share my evening routine.
My first step is the same as the first step of my morning skincare routine- to cleanse. How I cleanse depends upon whether I’ve had a makeup day or a makeup free day. So, if I’ve had a makeup day I will take my Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk and a muslin cloth into my bathroom and use warm water with the cleanser to remove my makeup. This is such a good cream cleanser, it really does draw out all the dirt, makeup and impurities and leaves my face feeling so clean(it also smells so good!!). I will then put some of the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Water onto a cotton pad and go over my face again just in case there’s some tricky foundation or mascara that’s left over.
The muslin cloths that I use are ones from the baby section in Bargain Buys and you can get like five for £1 which is insane. I don’t see the point in buying an expensive one from a skincare brand when these ones are so soft and so affordable. This is one of the best skincare hacks I’ve discovered, they come in handy a lot as well and are super cute!
If I’ve had a makeup free day I will just go in with micellar water to remove any dirt or rubbish that’s collected on my face throughout the day. It’s so important for me to cleanse, I like to make sure my face is fresh and clean.
Sometimes I will use the Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Scrub which I believe removes any dead skin cells making my face healthier. This is something that I do about 2-3 times a week and have only introduced into my routine in the past week. I have enjoyed doing it so far and do feel a difference after using it.
I then put some of the Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner onto a cotton pad and apply that all over my face. As I said yesterday, this really soothes my face and when I use it in the evening it removes any traces of makeup that have sneakily been missed. As I mentioned yesterday, the cotton pads that I use are these ones from Wilko’s which are bigger than usual ones.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, using a serum is something new to my routine. I use the Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum which makes my skin feel so radiant and smooth.
Before I put on a moisturiser, I use a face oil. The one that I use daily is the No7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil, I try not to apply too much otherwise I feel like a slug. The greasiness of this product definitely depends on how much you apply which is why I don’t lather this on. I have quite oily skin and I’ve read that using a face oil is the best way to counteract oily skin which is why I try to use it every night.
I then use a night cream, the one that I’ve been loving for so long is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Hydrating Moisturiser Night Cream. I love the gel consistency of this, it’s so lightweight, hydrating and makes my skin feel so amazing. I cannot recommend this and the day cream enough, they are both so amazing!
I then apply the Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream under my eye and a teeny bit on my lid. I love the Superdrug Vitamin E skincare range so much, it is so affordable and the products are always of such a high quality and work wonders! There is always offers on as well, like buy one get one half price which is so good!
I never use spot creams, I’ve just not found one that actually works for me. However, what does work for me is Sudocrem. If I have any spots or blemishes I catch them earlier and dot this onto them, it works so quickly and makes them less visible straight away. I could not imagine my skincare routine without Sudocrem, if you haven’t tried it for spots/blemishes definitely do!
That’s it! Some nights I may use a face mask and if you’d like to read about which ones I’d chose from my post about that is here.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading about my evening routine and my post yesterday!
