I never usually do two months consistently of favourites as I find they’d be quite repetitive as I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough new things to rave about. But during November I found myself discovering things that I loved and NEEDED to write about for you all in a favourites post. I also hope you like my Christmassy background for these photos, it is December after all!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation
I have worn this foundation every single day since I’ve bought it, without fail. It gives my skin such a healthy glow and a really nice coverage, my skin does have some problematic areas at the moment so I do need to apply an extra layer to those areas. If you’d like to see my first impressions on this foundation and a fuller review, you can read the post here.
The Skin System Overnight Blemish Serum Tea Tree
As I mentioned above my skin has been really problematic recently. On my forehead I have had quite a lot of spots that are really bad and I have tried EVERYTHING. The only thing that has helped them as been this blemish serum from ASDA. I think it’s the soothing tea tree which has been the best thing, it’s definitely helped to make them look a lot less angrier and I’ve had much better results using this than anything else. This was only £2 in ASDA and I cannot recommend it enough.
Tresemme Salon Finish Freeze Hold Hairspray
Throughout the past month or so I’ve loved wearing my hair in space buns or a top knot and this hairspray has been my lifesaver. My hair literally does not move when I use this hairspray and doesn’t alter the way it looks at all. It’s so easy to brush out as well.
Garnier Ultimate Blends Olive Body Lotion Dry Skin
I am rubbish at remembering to moisturise. So, as an incentive I bought myself this moisturiser which was on offer in ASDA to £1.10- I love a good bargain! I love this product so much. The smell is amazing, it isn’t greasy, it feels amazing on the skin and sinks in so quickly. If you’re like me and rubbish at remembering to moisturise and hate everything that comes with it, this a go to!
I wore my hair in space buns as part of my Halloween costume and they’ve rarely been out of them since! I love how they look with my hair, I think they’re so fun and cute yet so easy to do. The photo above is a very posey one from my Instagram but as you can see I have space buns in. My tips for making them work are to back comb the hell out of your hair and to use plumping powder on the ends of your hair so the buns stay put and look nice and full.
Workout App on Apple Watch
I’ve been going to the gym for a few months now and I use the workout app that is built in on the Apple watch to track my workouts. Since the recent update I have loved using it. I find it so much easier to use, you can adjust your music on it and you get notified when you’ve achieved one of your activity goals.
Georgia is the wife of the ever so lovely Danny from McFly who I absolutely adore. She has recently started up a Youtube channel where she chats about beauty, lifestyle and her pregnancy. She is so lovely, her videos are so warm and chatty, I have to watch one as soon as they’re uploaded. You should definitely go and check out her channel which I’ll link here.
Lucy is another Youtuber who I absolutely love. She is so fun and lovely, her videos are so easy to watch, I love her Get Ready With Me’s! You can go over to her channel here, go and subscribe to both of these gals!
Sam Smith at the BBC
If you’re a fan of Sam Smith or even just like a few of his songs this is a MUST WATCH. I have watched this so many times because I love it so much. Fearne Cotton hosts this informal chat with Sam Smith with interludes of his most famous songs and some from his new album. I love this so much and highly recommend you give it a watch!
The Thrill Of It All-Sam Smith
I mean I couldn’t not include this beauty of an album could I? Sam Smith has got everything so right with this album, everything about is perfect and beautiful. I connect with it on so many levels, I don’t think I’ll ever stop listening too it. I literally couldn’t even pick a favourite song but my top three would be Burning, Pray and One Last Song. But I adore Too Good At Goodbyes, which is the first single. Listen to this album, it is simply beautiful.
Jack Whitehall At Large
Myself and Jacob went to see Jack Whitehall’s stand up in February as both of us LOVE him. So I was chuffed when I saw that it had been made into a Netflix Original as I can rewatch it as and when I want too. I find Jack hilarious, he is original and genuinely funny. I’m so glad this is now on Netflix, I’ve loved watching it this month.
This month, myself and Jacob had a lovely little stay in Blackpool and we went to see Jimmy Carr. He was brilliant. His humour is very dark so may not necessarily be for everyone however both of us really enjoy it. He put on a really great show and is my favourite comedian that I’ve seen live.
I’d seen this new television show advertised all over Sky called ‘Bounty Hunters’, as soon as I saw that Jack Whitehall was in it I knew I had to watch it. I’m completely hooked. The storyline is just brilliant, it really does hold your attention and makes you ask questions, I love the characters with Barnaby being my obvious favourite. I just hope the season ends well as I’m loving it so far.
Gavin and Stacey
This is more of an all time favourite as I’ve always loved Gavin & Stacey however this month I’ve not stopped rewatching it. I don’t even have words to express my love for this TV show, it is just the best. My favourite character is Nessa, she makes me belly laugh without fail, every episode. I just wish Netflix would put the first season on so I could shamelessly binge watch all three.
The Apprentice is a TV show that I watch every year without fail and love every year. I always think the next series can’t beat the current one but this year is just brilliant. There are some brilliant people on there with massive personalities, my favourite has to be Elizabeth, she makes me laugh every episode but I know she won’t win.
John Lewis Advert
The John Lewis advert is something that every year gets everyone talking. This year it has split people as some don’t like it thinking the storyline is a bit meh and who would rather have a sad one and you get those who loved it. I am the latter, I adored it. Moz the monster is blooming cute, I love the story and I especially love the music. The song is Golden Slumbers by Elbow, whose voice is just a dream. John Lewis have done it again for me, I never doubted them.
I saw this cute little tumbler in Tesco for just £2 and could not go home without one. I love anything that has my initials on it and I adore anything gold, so this is perfect for me. This is a really good idea for a stocking filler as well!
My favourite hot drink of choice this Autumn/Winter is hot Vimto. I am obsessed, like completely obsessed. I started drinking it when I was feeling under the weather but it’s just stuck and I can’t stop drinking it! I like mine nice and strong, I hate not being able to taste it properly!
Christmassy Scented Candles
As we’ve made the transition into Winter from Autumn, I’ve put my pumpkin scented candles away and replaced them with these gorgeously Christmassy scented ones. On the left photo we have a large gingerbread jar from Home Bargains and a small cranberry jar from Ikea. On the right, we have an apple and cinnamon candle which was also from Home Bargains and a Spiced Dusk jar from Primark. These smell insane when they’re all lit, I love these kind of smells!
I picked this up in Tesco in the sale for 75p, it is a pad of 15 sheets of monthly planners. I am a stationary lover and love being organised and giving the illusion that my life is all together, so this is perfect for me. But genuinely this has been so handy for helping me keep track of my month form family things to uni and blog things, I track it all on these.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading about the things that I loved in November. On a sidetone I would just like to thank you all for the incredible support and love that I received throughout the last month. My views have been insane, I’ve surpassed 700 followers and received some lovely comments. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, it means the world. Thank you.
