My Top 10 Favourite Christmas Movies

I love Christmas films. I mean who doesn’t?! I thought I’d share with you my top 10 favourite Christmas movies to get us all in the festive mood as it’s December! So, let’s get into it. These aren’t in a ranked order by the way, I could not decide an order!

1. The Grinch

This is one that my family don’t like but I love. I love the character of the Grinch, Jim Carrey is just brilliant, he is so distinctive. I also adore the song ‘Where are you Christmas?’ which is in this movie.

2. Miracle On 34th Street

This is a big family favourite. It is one of those truly magical Christmas films, I adore the storyline, the characters especially Richard Attenborough, he adds something extra special to the film and will never be forgotten.

3. Jingle All The Way

This is probably my favourite of all these films (probably being the key word!). This film always reminds me of my Dad. I think Arnold Schwarzenegger is brilliant in this film, I always belly laugh when I’m watching it. I haven’t watched this yet this year but I think I’ll have too after writing this!

4. Nativity

This is my least favourite of the Nativity films but I still absolutely love it. I do really like Martin Freeman as Mr.Maddens in this one but Mr.Poppy steals the scene for me, he makes these films what they are for me.
5. Nativity 2

This is up there for me in my top favourites. I watch this on repeat in the build up to Christmas. Mr.Poppy is just iconic in this, the kids in the film are also so brilliant and add such humour and magic to it. The storyline is unforgettable, although this isn’t popular amongst some, this is an all time favourite for me.

 6. Home Alone

I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who doesn’t love Home Alone? It truly is an iconic Christmas film that has an amazing storyline and unforgettable characters. I couldn’t imagine a Christmas without watching this.

7. Home Alone 2 Lost In New York

Although the second Home Alone may not be as good as the first it is still an amazing film. I love how it’s mainly the same cast as the first film with a similar storyline but I feel like this one is so much more Christmassy. I think that’s probably because it’s set in New York which looks magical at Christmas.

8. Polar Express

This is my Mum’s favourite Christmas film and is one of mine because of her love for it. I think Tom Hanks’ voice makes this film so magical, I love how he voices multiple characters, he makes the film for me. This is by far the most magical, Christmassy film out of them all.

9. A Christmas Carol

This is another of my all time favourites, I couldn’t imagine a Christmas without watching this. I adore the book by Dickens, it is one of my favourite classics (I’m not a classics lover) and this is my favourite adaption of it by far. Again, Jim Carrey’s voice brings Scrooge to life, making the character so distinctive. I mean, what isn’t to love about a Christmas film where you learn a good few life lessons?

10. Elf

Save the best ’til last? Yuhuh. I mean what isn’t to love about Elf. Will Ferrel is amazing as Buddy the Elf, again I think it’s so much more festive and magical because it features New York, also because it features actual elves and Santa! There are so many amazing moments in this film, I could create a whole blog post on them!
