I’ve never been one to spend a lot of time on my hair, whether that be styling it, taking care of it or even liking it in general. This was until I got my hair cut short and I literally fell in love with it and still absolutely love it. I thought I’d do a post sharing with you the products that I enjoy using on my hair as I’ve bought quite a few new ones recently. Just for reference, my hair is now just above my collarbones length wise and it is usually quite thin but since being cut has definitely thickened up.
Vo5 Express Primer Heat Protect Spray
I only picked this up recently in ASDA for 90p which was an absolute bargain. I always use a heat protecting spray when I wash my hair as I use straighteners on the daily and sometimes use curling tongs so I understand how important it is to protect my hair from the heat. I really like this one, Vo5 do some really great hair products and I’m really pleased with this one, especially considering how much I paid for it.
Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 Day Heat Activated Treatment
I use this on damp hair before I dry it, it’s like a cream consistency like a serum. I was apprehensive about using this as I’d never used anything like this before but I was surprised by how nice it made my hair feel when I massaged some in. I love using this, it adds some extra protection to my hair and makes it feel amazing.
Wella Shockwaves Ultra Strong Heat Defence Volumising Mousse
I don’t use mousse as much now as I did when I had longer hair but I do use it from time to time. This is the best mousse that I’ve used, it’s really well priced and makes such a difference to my hair once it’s dried. I will either use this or the serum mentioned above I don’t tend to use them both at the same time.
Schwarzkopf got2be Beach Matt Texturising Salt Spray
When I knew I was going to get my hair cut short the first thing that I bought was this texturising salt spray as I hated the though of my hair looking flat or limp, especially with the length. I didn’t want to spend too much, this was around £4 and I love using it, especially when my hair is curled it adds volume and texture and makes curls look more natural and messy. I highly recommend using a salt spray if you’ve got short to medium length hair as it makes such a difference to mine, even when it’s just straightened or natural.
Tresemme 24 Hour Body Sky High Plumping Powder
This is something that I used with longer hair but that I use even more now I have shorter hair. This just adds volume, I tend to use this on my roots now to plump it up and add some volume. If I’m putting my hair up in a bun, I’ll add this to the ends of my hair to help it go up easier and look ‘fuller’. I also like using this on the ends of my hair when it’s been curled, it gives it more body and adds that extra effect.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
I live by dry shampoo. I’m a busy gal which means I reach for Batiste more than I probably should, it’s a godsend!! I tend now to use this to add some volume and put some oomph in my hair as well as using it when I’m in-between washes. My favourite is the rose gold one but I’ll use any of them.
Mane ‘n Tail Herbal Essentials Shampoo and Conditioner
I haven’t used these for long, I hauled them last month in this post as I picked these up for an absolute bargain! I adore these, I actually bulk bought them after I realised how amazing they make my hair feel. They make my hair feel so fresh and soft, I LOVE using these. I may have to invest in more products from Mane ‘n Tail as all I hear is good things!
Tresemme 7 Day Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
Tresemme are a good trusty brand when it comes to shampoo and conditioners, you know you won’t go wrong with those products. I think these worked better with my longer hair it smoothed out the frizz and uncontrollable baby curls, I still use it now with my shorter hair but I feel like I don’t get the full effect it intends because my hair is less frizzy and unruly. As you can tell from the photo though they’ve been squeezed a hella lot and I think they’re coming to an end!
Alberto Balsam Blends Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner with Natural Avocado Oil & Coconut Scent
One of the main reasons that I adore this range of products is the smell. They’re scented with avocado oil and coconut scent and it smells heavenly, the smell reminds me so so much of being on holiday. I reach for these the most when I’m washing my hair because these are the most inexpensive but have such an amazing effect on my hair and that smell stays for DAYS. I will 100% be rebuying these when they’re empty!
Alberto Balsam Blends Damage Repair Intensive Mask with Natural Avocado Oil & Coconut Scent
This is the hair mask part of the range mentioned above which I adore. I love using hair masks, I’ve been really rubbish for finding the time to use them recently but whenever I do use them my hair feels INSANE and I’m so glad I’ve done it. This is my absolute fave, again that smell is stunning but it feels light in the hair and doesn’t feel cloggy or heavy at all.
Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed it and please let me know any hair products that you love, I’m always looking for an excuse to shop!
