Superdrug’s DARE Summer Special Review- The Must Have Magazine!!

On Saturday night I was lay in bed when I saw a photo of this magazine on Instagram and I was instantly stopped in my tracks. I dragged Jacob on a hunt for one at 11 o’clock at night because I NEEDED one. I found one copy of the Superdrug’s DARE Summer Special magazine in Tesco for £2.50 which is such an insane price considering the overall worth of the five products that are included with the magazine (£16).

In this post I’m going to review the magazine and give a little review on the products that are included, so let’s get into it…

DARE Summer Special Magazine

I really love reading magazines, I find that they give me so much inspiration for my blog and even just in general life (I religiously buy Cosmopolitan and Glamour!). I used to pick up the free copy of DARE in Superdrug and enjoyed reading that, I would always end up with a long shopping list for my next Superdrug trip though!

I’m really impressed with the full size edition of DARE, I think it had a good variety of articles featuring an interesting mix of celebrities and a great dose of beauty all focused on summer. This would have been a perfect read on the plane or by the pool as it gives you all of the holiday vibes! I think the advice included was helpful and the products mentioned made me want to go shopping right that minute! I definitely recommend giving this magazine a read, especially if you have a beauty blog or are generally interested in beauty it is really handy!

Colgate 360° Charcoal Toothbrush

I am completely obsessed with the whole charcoal phase, whether it be skincare, haircare or dental care, I’m completely living for it. So I was so excited to see that this toothbrush is charcoal- crazy! I do opt for an electrical toothbrush but I’m always willing to give this a try!

Superdrug Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste

I used to be completely obsessed with this toothpaste, I used to use it everyday but I was converted to Sensodyne and I haven’t used it since. I featured it in a Current Favourites post last year if you want to see my full thoughts on it. I do absolutely love this toothpaste, I feel like it makes such a difference to the whiteness of my teeth and gives such a clean, fresh feeling. After trying this again I think I’m converted again so I may have to buy a full size tube!

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Colour Deep Treatment

I don’t use Aussie hair products, I used to use them consistently when I was younger but I have other hair products that I’d rather opt for. I’ve never tried this deep treatment but it sounds right up my street as I love to use hair masks and make my hair feel like I’ve just been to the hairdressers!

This is a treatment that you apply after shampooing for 1-3 minutes, I kept it on for 3 minutes then washed it off and applied my conditioner. This gave my hair a really lovely, post-hairdresser feel and made it all swishy and fresh. I will definitely pick up another one of these to use once a week as I can see it making a real difference to my hair for the rest of the week.

Garnier PureActive 3 in 1 Clay Mask/Scrub/Wash

I love Garnier skincare but I haven’t actually tried anything from the PureActive range. I’m not 100% sure about the whole ‘3 in 1’ concept as I’m quite strict with my skincare routine and wouldn’t be too keen on using one product for three separate uses BUT I’m always willing to give it a go!

Being completely honest I was apprehensive about using a multi-purpose product but I was pleasantly surprised. I used it as a wash first, massaging it in then washing it off with warm water which was really refreshing and I’d definitely use this as a cleanser. I used it secondly as a scrub, I couldn’t see much of a difference between using it as a scrub and as a wash, except as a scrub I focused on my T-Zone using circular motions massaging it as that’s where I tend to get the most pores. Last but by no means least, I used it as a mask and kept it on for 3 minutes I thought it was a good face mask although I would prefer to keep it on for a bit longer, I’d definitely reach for this if my pamper session was cut short.

Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss in Ice Kiss

I am a HUGE Makeup Revolution fan, I own and absolutely love so many of their products and continue to extend my collection! This highlighter is gorgeous, I haven’t tried any of the Skin Kisses but I am so excited to try this!

The size of that pan is amazing it is huge and the packaging makes it look stunning. The shade is perfect for my skin tone and is my ideal highlighter. This is so pigmented and makes my skin look so glowy without looking like I’ve faked it with a highlighter, haha! I’d love to try more shades of this as it’s stunning, I love the whole concept of these skin kisses.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope that you enjoyed it and manage to get your hands on a copy of the mag!

  1. What?! All of that came with the mag?! That’s incredible. I love reading magazines too, pretty much for all of the same reasons as you do, I’ve also got a subscription to Cosmipolitan. 😁
