My Top Five Favourite Perfumes!

I think a love and appreciation for perfumes is something that comes with age. The older I get the more my love for perfumes grows as does my collection. So, I thought today I’d share my top five favourite perfumes, let’s get into it…

Missguided Babe Power 80ml

This was a present from my Mum and Dad from Duty Free when they recently went on holiday. They said the whole ‘Babe Power’ reminded them of me, hence why they bought it for me, which I LOVE. That is one of the main things that I love about this perfume, the whole femininity and strong female power that this embodies makes me love it even more. Secondly, that packaging is to die for, it’s designed to replicate an energy drink, I think it’s innovative, unique and makes it stand out on my dressing table. Let’s get onto the most important thing- the scent. This isn’t necessarily a scent that I’d pick but I actually love it, I’m no expert with perfumes or smells so I’ve copied below the notes in the perfume:

top notes: grapefruit zest, sour cherry, pink pepper, crisp apple, pineapple and rhubarbheart notes: orange blossom, peony and jasmine

base notes: vanilla, candy floss, sensual musk, amber crystals

Overall, this is a strong scent for me, it makes me feel sassy applying it with that stand out packaging and the rose gold looks stunning on a vanity. Babe Power for the win (not just the perfume, haha!).

Prada Candy Florale 80ml

I received this in a giveaway price which I was so grateful for, especially considering I hadn’t tried any Prada perfumes. I think the bottle looks really sleek and luxurious, it’s got quite a feminine look. It also has the scent to match, this is a very light Spring/Summer floral fragrance that is effortless (if a scent can be effortless?). This has a gorgeous feminine, floral air to it which is lovely for the sunnier months. I still make use of this in these Autumnal days though as it is still a versatile scent. As I said I’m no expert so I’ve listed the notes below:

Top Notes: Limoncello
Heart Notes: Peonies
Base Notes: Musks, Benzoin, Caramel

Overall, I love the appearance of the bottle it’s sleek and feminine. The scent is a perfect Spring/Summer scent, it’s floral, pretty and light which is what every woman wants during those sunnier days.

Calvin Klein Woman 30ml

I picked this up in Superdrug the week that it released, I’d never had a Calvin Klein perfume but this scent was so distinctive and (as silly as this will sound) grown up, haha! The packaging is definitely unique and different, I love that it’s simply called ‘Woman’ it gives it such an effortlessly feminine and strong aurora. As I said earlier, the scent is so distinctive, it isn’t one I’ll use everyday for work as I find it so strong yet really beautiful. I definitely get the wood tones of this perfume, this is a going out/making an effort kind of perfume for me and is one that I love.

Top Notes: Eucalyptus Acorns
Heart Notes: Orange Flower
Base Notes: Alaskan Cedar wood

Overall, I really love Woman it is a very different scent that may not be everyone’s cup of tea but is a beautiful perfume that feels so strong and distinctive.

Thierry Mugler Alien 60ml

Everybody loves Alien. Alien may be my favourite perfume/scent ever, I’ve gone through three of the smaller bottles and this is quite a recent present which is the bigger size. Alien is such an iconic scent, when you smell it you instantly know that that’s Alien, which I love. I will always be in love with this fragrance, it used to be saved for special occasions but I use it every now and again for my confident, happy days.

Combining comforting floral notes of Jasmine Sambac with Cashmeran Wood and White Amber notes.

Overall, I don’t think there’s a lot more to say about Alien, it’s so popular it speaks for itself really. It’s an iconic scent that is so loved and recognisable. This list isn’t in any particular order but if it was I do think Alien would be right at the top of it.

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom 100ml(*)

This came through the post a few weeks ago so beautifully packaged and presented, I was so excited to try it. It completely lived up to my expectations, I think the smell is so bright, feminine and beautiful. The packaging is beautiful, that gold lid works really well with the light blue bottle, it is effortlessly packaged but still looks lovely. I would definitely save this perfume for special day/occasions, I wouldn’t class this as an everyday scent but that does not take away from how much I love this fragrance!

Top Note – Bergamot and green mandarin give a sparkling citrus lift to the pink blossoms.
Heart Note – Fig, cassis, honeysuckle and black cherries bring a fullness to round out the heart of the fragrance.
Base Note – Iris and woods in the base for a sophisticated soft finish.

Overall, I was really pleasantly surprised by this perfume, I think it’s a gorgeous perfume that feels really luxurious. This was kindly gifted to me by Shay and Blue which is a brand that I wasn’t too familiar with until recently but I would definitely try more of their scents! If you’d like to pick up a bottle of this yourself I’ll leave the link here (not aff link!).

I received products marked with a (*) complimentary for testing purposes however all opinions are my own.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you again to Shay & Blue for gifting me their gorgeous perfume!
