I can’t believe November is over. I feel like I’ve blinked and here we are opening the doors of our advent calendars. I’ve loved November, which I think is why it’s gone so fast, here’s the things that I’ve loved this month…
The Haunting Of Hill House
There was a massive hype around this when it first came out. Myself and my boyfriend, Jacob, watched the first couple of episodes but didn’t think that much of it. But after hearing so many rave reviews we decided to push through it and watch some more and ended up binge watching the rest of the series. I loved it. I think it was so complex, so interesting, so creepy yet intriguing and horrifying. As a horror fan, it was my dream. We did get confused at times about who was who, due to the flashbacks and amount of siblings but we soon got the hang of it. I loved the storyline, every episode handled another issue and they all linked to one another seamlessly. I 100% recommend this series, it’s one that I’ll definitely rewatch in the future!
Black Mirror Season 4
I watched Black Mirror at the beginning of the year then earlier this month I went back to rewatch a particular episode and discovered I hadn’t watched any episode from Season 4?! What the hell, haha? I don’t know if this season was released later or I just didn’t notice it but either way I binge watched it in two days. I absolutely loved it, there was only two episodes- USSR Callister and Metalhead- that I couldn’t get into and didn’t enjoy. The rest I was completely enthralled in and loved, especially Arkangel I was hooked and on the edge of my seat at that episode! If you haven’t watched this season yet I highly recommend it!
I was dreading the dark evenings a few months ago, I hated the thought of driving home from work in the dark and cold. But I’ve surprisingly been loving these cosy Autumnal evenings, especially Bonfire Night. I took my boyfriend and two little nieces to my work’s Bonfire which was absolutely amazing, although blooming freezing, we had a best time and it meant the festivities could really start to set in. I can’t wait for more cosy Autumnal evenings…
Shay and Blue English Cherry Blossom Perfume
I was very kindly gifted a bottle of Shay & Blue’s Perfume in the scent English Cherry Blossom. I love this perfume, it’s such a sophisticated, classy scent that is so distinctive and elegant. I also think the bottle gives off such a luxurious vibe with the gold lid. I spoke more about this in my Top 5 Fave Perfumes post so if you’d like to know more, head over there!
Olay Daily Facials 5-in-1 Dry Cloths
I spoke about these in an Instagram post but I couldn’t resist mentioning them in this post. I’m gutted that I’ve ran out of these Olay Cloths, they were just fold out towels (about the size of a flannel) that you put under warm water and they’d kind of foam up when massaged to create a lather. They’re perfect for washing your face first thing in the morning, they’re dead refreshing and cleaning. They’re also very effective for removing makeup, especially waterproof mascara, they have amazing cleansing qualities and were a go to for me on any occasion. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be buying another box, although I adored these, they’re a bit pricey and aren’t too good for the environment when they can be replaced with a washable flannel. If you’ve got any thoughts on these please let me know, I’m torn by my opinion and morals!
Beauty Bay Origin Colour Theory Eyeshadow Palette
I was so excited to finally speak about this palette this month. I have fallen completely in love with the Origin palette, I wrote a full First Impressions on it here which I’d love you to read. The palette has 42 shades that are divided into seven strips for a step by step eyeshadow look. I think this is such a brilliant, innovative idea that has gone down so well in the beauty community and is a winner for me. These palettes are also so affordable, definitely one to add to your makeup collection!
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindlewald
If you know me you’ll know that I’m a massive Harry Potter fan. When the first instalment in the Fantastic Beasts series was released two years ago, I fell in love all over again and become completely obsessed with the wizarding world for the second time. I was a bit more apprehensive for The Crimes of Grindelwald after reading certain things online but I went in with an open mind and came out with a positive option. I, personally, loved the movie I loved that the plot was unravelled a bit more, we learned more about certain characters (Credence, Grindelwald, Dumbledore, Leta, Nagini…) and were left on a massive cliff hanger. Although the film was slightly confusing at times, as a HP lover I adored it, it felt authentic, magical and gripping. I cannot wait for the third instalment to see where Rowling takes the story next.
